Kentucky Motorsports Magazine (KYMM) is a Lexington based monthly print and online publication that will launch in April of 2025. We would like to partner with experienced freelance writers who can use reliable sources to create in-depth feature-length articles on topics impacting Kentucky: news, trends, powerful personalities, exposes or analytical stories. We will work with you to develop concepts and connect with sources.

Starting pay is .30 cents per word and will increase based on performance and frequency.

Responsibilities
– Create compelling articles on diverse topics. (500+ word count)
– Conduct thorough research to ensure accuracy and depth in all writing assignments.
– Communicate effectively.
– Fact-check information to ensure credibility and reliability of content produced.

Qualifications

– Must live in Kentucky, residency must be verified.
– Proven experience in journalism or freelance writing is preferred.
– Strong proofreading skills with an eye for detail in grammar, punctuation, and style.
– Excellent research skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear narratives.
– Ability to edit content for clarity, coherence, and overall quality.
– Proficient in communicating ideas effectively both in writing and verbally.
– Knowledge of various writing styles and adaptability to different tones as needed.
– A portfolio showcasing previous writing samples across different formats is highly desirable.
